The Tenth Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM10) will be hosted by Canada during the week of 27 May 2019, alongside the 4th annual Mission Innovation (MI4).

In order to deal with the economic and financial crisis triggered by the collapse of Lehman Brothers, the former G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors' Meeting was promoted to the summit-level meeting as a forum of leaders of major industrialized countries and emerging countries in November 2008. The first G20 Summit was held in Washington D. C.
After that, the leaders met every half year until 2010. Since 2011, it has been held once a year. The 2019 Summit will be held in Japan.

Energy access is a critical and under-served need among the 134 million people in need of humanitarian assistance today. In July of 2019, the Clean Cooking Alliance and UNITAR will host two consecutive events on behalf of the SAFE Working Group to convene the broad community of stakeholders engaged in providing energy solutions to crisis-affected people for capacity building, knowledge sharing, peer learning, and networking.
