Maximizing impacts in humanitarian field interventions requires integrating the perspectives of many different sectors. Open resources and collaboration tools are essential to this effort. They ensure proper coordination among the key stakeholders engaged in providing safe access to fuel and energy (SAFE) to crisis-affected populations.
This webinar, organized within the Sustainable Energy Technologies for Food Security (SET4food) project and hosted by the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves on behalf of SAFE Humanitarian Working Group, presents the ENERGYCoP platform: a global not-for-profit community of practice aimed to serve humanitarian professionals working in the energy sector. Its purpose is to facilitate coordination among a diverse network of stakeholders engaged in providing access to fuel and energy for cooking, lighting, heating, powering, and preservation in crisis settings, such as refugee camps or emergency aid operations. ENERGYCop is designed to be an interactive space with an open-knowledge approach that enables practitioners to search for and share projects, technologies, tools, and resources specifically related to energy access in humanitarian settings, as well as ask for advice and contribute to online discussions. The webinar will introduce the platform, its features, and some of its key resources, in addition to discussing the need for its existence. It will conclude with a brief Q&A from participants.
Created in the framework of the SET4food project and managed by the SAFE Humanitarian Working Group (SAFE WG), ENERGYCoP is funded by the European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid.
