The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, the United Nations Foundations (UNF), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR- Kenya), the International Organizations for Migration and the UN World Food Programme (WFP) are hosting the Safe Access to Fuel and Energy Humanitarian Workshop from the 28 November – 1 December 2017 at Crowne Plaza, located at Kenya Road, Upperhill in Nairobi.
Energy access is a critical and under-served need in humanitarian aid hence the need for a more coordinated and timely response when it comes to fuels and energy needs of crisis affected populations. The SAFE Workshop aims to build the capacity of humanitarian aid workers, energy experts, NGOs, government representatives, and private sector stakeholders to develop effective energy strategies that deliver positive impact and meet the needs of the populations living in humanitarian settings. Approximately 200 participants across the globe from 25 countries attending the workshop, including refugee representatives from Dadaab.
