Organized by the UN Environment/OCHA Joint Unit, the 2017 Environment and Emergencies Forum (EEF) is a unique opportunity to discuss global policy, share experiences and knowledge, forge new partnerships and agree on key actions related to environmental emergencies. Attend for three days of interactive dialogue, inspiring presentations, and networking opportunities. To pre-register, please visit our website. As the seats are limited, we will review and confirm your registration separately.
Participants are invited to contribute to different sessions in the following three areas:
At the Forum, you will meet representatives from governments, industry, academia, humanitarian and environmental organizations, and civil society. Participants come from a broad background but share the objective to improve environmental emergency preparedness and response, environmental management, disaster risk reduction and humanitarian action.*
Hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment), the Forum will take place at the UN Gigiri compound in Nairobi, Kenya.
Registrations will be open until 30 May 2017.
Once your pre-registration is approved, you will receive more information from us. Do pass on this invitation to anyone who should join us in Nairobi!
On the occasion of the Forum, the winners of the 2017 Green Star Awards will be celebrated during a formal ceremony. This biennial event, a partnership between OCHA, UN Environment and the NGO Green Cross International, recognize individuals, organizations, governments and companies who demonstrate achievements in prevention, preparedness and response to environmental emergencies.
